Pineapple & Turmeric Smoothie
This tropical smoothie is made up from fresh pineapple and bananas with a spicy pinch from the ginger root, just the perfect way to kickstart your day!
All these ingredients make up for a delicious combination of flavours and a great pack of immune-boosting smoothie, that can be served for breakfast or for an afternoon snack.
Servings: 2 x 250ml glasses

What you need
- 270g fresh pineapple flesh ( about 1/2 a pineapple)
- 2 small bananas
- 150ml milk (of your choice)
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 3 cm piece ginger, chopped
What you do
- blitz all the ingredients in a high-powered blender for 2 minutes, until smooth and creamy.
- divide between 2 glasses and serve.

Turmeric: Curcumin is the pigment found in turmeric that has a lot of benefits and these include antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
Combining turmeric with black pepper has been shown to increase curcumin absorption a lot.
