Apple Crumble

Easy, delicious, classic comfort food at its best! It’s a traditional apple filing topped with a crispy buttery crumble and a big scoop of vanilla icecream. Absolutly delicious! You can't say no to a sweet treat like this one!

Ingredients for the filling:
- 5 medium size apples, peeled and sliced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp water
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Ingredients for the crumble:
- 50g plain flour
- 50g rolled or quick oats
- 40g coconut sugar
- 50g cold butter
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp vanilla
- vanilla icecream (optional)
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 190°C

2. Peel and core the apples, cut in to chunks and put them in a pan with 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 of cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of water, then cook over low heat for 5 minutes to soften slightly. When ready, tip them into a small ovenproof baking dish.
3. Place the flour and the oats in a bowl, add butter, in small cubes, with the cinnamon and vanilla. Mix and rub in with your fingertips until it resembles an even crumb texture. Add the sugar and mix until combined.
4. Cover the apples with the crumble mixture and bake for around 20 minutes, or until golden and cooked through. You can add some icecream on top, if desired.
